How is worth determined?

When determining the worth of something there are two things I believe we must consider. The first is, the quality of the product.

The quality of a product is determined by its capability, as well as the manufacturer. Is the product dependable, is it helpful, and is it manufactured by a trusted and reputable manufacturer.
There are some who believe we human beings are the result of chance and matter. That somehow, over billions of years, unguided matter formed the species and race we call human.
It seems far more reasonable to believe that human beings are the product of design, not random chance. Human beings are similar to other creatures God created, but we are without a doubt different.
The unique and amazing design of human beings points us toward a Creator. If we examine our abilities to perform abstract reasoning , make moral choices, and exercise free will, we will see the image of our Creator. The very image we are all made in. This not only sets humans a part from all of Gods creation but, it proves our worth. As Psalm 139:14; tells us ,” we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works….”
Give God some glory my friend for we are top shelf.

As to the second point of, what determines our worth? Almost equally significant as the quality of the product, is what someone is willing to pay. Of course the manufacturer will set a price based on the quality, and of course the cost to make the product. However, the consumer may not necessarily agree with that estimate and therefore not pay the asked price.
This is equally true opposite way. The demand of the product, what someone is willing to pay, will determine the worth of the product, and in effect, set the price , or worth of the product.
What someone is willing to pay tells us the worth of that product, at least in the eyes of the one willing too pay.
We have already determined human beings are created by God.That in and of itself proves our worth. But we can also see our worth in what God, our Creator, did to save us. Human beings, created in the image of God, were stolen by sin when Adam and Eve chose to exercise free will and eat from the forbidden tree. Sin proved to be a cruel master, in desiring to steal, kill and destroy, the worth given to us by our Creator.
But God, knowing our worth, when we ourselves did not, proved our worth, and His love, by sending His only begotten Son to buy us back from the evil master called sin. And He did this by giving His own life.
Think about this ,my friend. We can determine the worth of every single human being by the price Jesus paid on that cross. His life, for ours, means your life is not only precious , it is priceless. God bless.
